She went to grade school at Lionel Hampton Fine & Performing Arts School. Obama was the second-to-last member to join School Gyrls after being brought in by Beyoncé. On December 3, 2008, the group released a holiday EP, A Very School Gyrls Holla-Day. The EP peaked at number 7 and sold 2 million copies, with their most popular song being "12 Days".
